Sadly we have made the decision to make an early call on this Sunday's Club Day. After the rain last night the track is already swamped and with the forecast looking no better for the weekend, we have decided to call it early.
We will be rescheduling this Sunday's canceled Club Day to next Sunday (27/06/21). The Practice Day that was scheduled for 27/06/21 will be rescheduled, however, at the moment we are unsure as to when (will be announced soon). Due to unforeseen circumstances, this weekends Proline at IRC Off Road will now be an OPEN TYRE EVENT.
We have been in talks with Proline Australia and unfortunately stock will not arrive to have enough sets of Blockade's for all drivers. Because of this, both the club committee and Proline Australia have agreed that the event will be ran as an open tyre event. There will still be a limited number of Proline Blockade's, along with plenty of Buckshot's available for purchase at the event, should you wish to run either of these tyres. The odd 2020 race season has finished with the completion of the SOAR SpeedBull Christmas Party last weekend.
IRC Off Road would like to thank all of its racers, sponsors, members and helpers for a great 2020 and their continued support. We wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas/New Year. We will post up the 2021 race calendar soon so keep your eyes peeled. See you all again next year! Thank you to all members who came to the AGM yesterday and voted/gave input. I extend that thanks to all of the outgoing committee and welcome the new committee.
The 2020/21 IRC Committee is as follows: Executive Roles: President: Mitchell Scott Vice-President/Track Manager: Peter Coombs Secretary: Darren Holbrow Treasurer: Brad Richardson Canteen Manager: David Mathews & Kerry General Committee/Track Crew: Russell Meredith Shane Holbrow Cary Davies Wayne Johnstone Len Cowan Please see below the COVID-19 procedures that must be followed at all IRC Off Road events moving forward.
Click HERE to view procedures. Finally! After months of no racing, we have the all clear to get back to normal club racing at the track from the 1st July.
Our first race back will be the 5th July, 2020. We hope to see you all back for a great day of racing! Good news everyone! We have been given the all clear by Council to start returning to the track!
There are guidelines and restrictions still in place along with social distancing rules as you would know, but this is a great step forward to getting back to normal racing. The committee will be meeting and discussing how we will go about organizing some track time that is fair for everyone until we get the all clear to return to normal racing, so hold tight and keep checking here and on our Facebook group. We are currently in talks with council and are hoping to have a definitive answer this week as to when we can start easing back into things at the track now that restrictions have began to ease.
We are hoping it will start out with maximum 10 people practice days before we can return to normal race days. If this is the case the committee will have a meeting about the best way to do this, but it will most likely involve a roster of 10 people in timed slots, with a sign in sign out register to keep track of who was there and what times they were there. This way we won't have people waiting to come in and have a run as everyone will know what time their practice slot is. I will keep you all updated and hopefully we can get back to some racing soon! After extremely careful considerations, the IRC Off Road committee has made the decision TO CANCEL ALL EVENTS/RACE DAYS INDEFINITELY.
This was not an easy decision, however, with the current situation and restrictions relating to COVID-19, we are left without any other option. During this time, the track will remain locked with the chain to the premises also locked. IRC recommends individuals check council/state/national rules before using the track to ensure rules/restrictions are not being broken. IRC will not be liable and will accept NO responsibility for people/member(s) using the facility during this time. As this situation develops further, we will ensure to keep you all updated. Stay safe everyone and fingers crossed we can be back racing soon. Update regarding IRC Off Road and Corona Virus (COVID-19).
We are currently looking into the effects that COVID-19 may have on club activities moving forward. Once we have solid information and answers we will post an update both here and on our Facebook page. |
